Karate Tournament - March 2002

Amber competed in a Karate Tournament in March of 2002. She competed in the Forms, Sparring and Grappling portions of the tournament, which is combined with boys and girls. She finished first place (Gold Medal) in all three sections. She did outstanding!! At the end of the program she got to grapple against a boy that won his division and is older and a higher belt, she lasted over four minutes of the five-minute match before he choked her out and she had to tap out. That was longer than the other kids in his age group and belt rank had lasted. She was ahead in points for most of the match.
